High quality professional development to enable teaching assistants to deliver reading intervention with pupils in Years 2-4
Teaching Assistants (or teachers) in Years 2-4
Teaching Assistants will receive 2 days of CPD that will allow them to deliver high quality reading intervention. The Oxford University Press, Project X Code books are a series of adventure books based on a structured progression of phonics, vocabulary and comprehension skills. Lessons will be delivered using detailed session notes to support a trained teaching assistant (or teacher) to teach a small group of children for half an hour, four times a week.
If schools have not already purchased the Project X Code reading books, they will need to do so by contacting their OUP representative.
The reduced cost of the training to support schools with bridging the gap in learning will include the two days CPD, published tests to enable them to reliably benchmark performance and track progress over the course of the intervention and detailed teaching handbooks
